It's the strongest words yet.  Ronnie Gilley may be fed up and ready to take Country Crossing to greener pastures--in other states.

A spokesperson for Gilley claims the entertainment development cannot survive without bingo.  "Mr. Gilley has been courted by interested partiies in several other states to move the Country Crossing project," said Doug Rainer who handles communications for Ronnie Gilley Properties. Ranier wouldn't specify where interest lies but said there is interest in "multiple states."

Ranier's comments came just hours after attempts to get electronic bingo legislation approved were dealt a serious blow. Neither of two bingo bills made it through the State Senate and, with only 13 days left in the current legislative session, bingo proponents are down--if not out.

"We are hopeful that legislators come back with a modified bill that can be agreed on," said Rainier.  "The real issue here is getting this matter in front of the people of Alabama who overwhelmingly want to vote on bingo."
