Houston County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the circumstances surrounding the injuries caused to a 2-year-old boy on Monday morning after he was attacked by more than one dog.
Sheriff's Capt. Antonio Gonzalez said deputies responded to a reported dog attack Monday morning at a residence on Brannon Stand Road.
“A child was attacked, and injured, which included facial injuries,” Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez said the boy suffered multiple bites from the attack, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are considered serious. Gonzalez said there possibly as many six to seven dogs were involved, and at least one dog was found dead when deputies arrived at the home. Gonzalez said early investigation results show the dogs were family pets.
