Mr. Charles Walker, age 84 of Andalusia passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 in the Andalusia hospital. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Gantt Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Walker, Rev. Carl Douglas and Rev. Wayne Sharpe will officiate. Special music will be provided by granddaughter, Annie Vidich and members of the River Falls & Gantt Baptist Church Choirs. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Fairmount Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Keturah Walker, Andalusia Son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Marshell Walker, Andalusia Daughters & Sons-in-law, Kathryn & Steve Sharpe, Andalusia Margaret Foley, Andalusia Special niece & nephew, Mary and Dale South, Tuscaloosa, AL Brother & sister-in-law, Gilmer “Boots” & Vera Walker, Red Level Sisters-in-law, Gladys Hart, Tuscaloosa Loyette Walker, Red Level Frances Walker, Cantonment, Florida Brother-in-law, John Mitchell, Saraland, Alabama Grandchildren, Micheal (Tamara) Bush of Opp Jonathan (April) Bush of Andalusia Kim (Dennis) Allred of Andalusia Jill Sharpe of Andalusia Tim (Sonya) Walker, Andalusia Annie Vidich, Andalusia Two step grandchildren, Janna (Eric) Nelson of Andalusia Matt (Debbie) Cameron of Red Level Great grandchildren, Hunter Allred, Grayson Bush, Reid Bush, Madalyn Bush, Mallory Bush, Meaghan Walker, Ryan Walker, Layne Vidich, Andrew Vidich Hailey Nelson, Brianna Nelson, Bryan Cameron, Serving as pallbearers will be Micheal Bush, Jonathan Bush, Tim Walker, Jerry Scott, Dennis Allred, Ryan Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Allred, Grayson Bush, Andrew Vidich, A.C. Godwin, Coy Williams, Albert “Hoggie” Pitts.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Walker, his parents, Gilmer Thomas & Lena Margaret Walker, a sister, Operea Mitchell, brothers, James Walker, Hayward Walker and grandson, Charles Boyd Walker.
