PRESS RELEASE

On Friday, June 29th, James Edward Griffin was
arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana I
and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The charges
resulted from a traffic stop conducted by DTF Agent Greg
Jackson in Florala. Jackson initiated the traffic stop after
he witnessed Griffin's vehicle speeding on South 3rd
Street. Upon contact with the driver, Jackson, smelled an
odor he knew to be associated with marijuana. After
receiving consent to search the vehicle, Jackson found
several ounces of marijuana and several plastic bags used to
contain marijuana.

"Prevention is something that law enforcement
strives for every day in the fight against drugs. By seizing
these drugs, we can be sure they will no longer be on the
streets of Covington County," stated Jackson.

Griffin is currently being held in the Covington
County Jail on a $13,000 bond.

PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday, June 30th, Ronnie Lee Norris,
Jackie Marvin Cook, Jr., and Timothy Paul Worley were
arrested and charged with Unlawful Manufacture of a
Controlled Substance II, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled
Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A call made to the Florala Police Department tipped officers
onto a possible methamphetamine manufacturing locati on.
Assistant Chief Chris Jackson with the Florala Police

Norris, Cook, and Worley at a residence on Alabama Street in
Florala. Upon making contact, Jackson saw items in plain
view associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. A
search warrant was obtained and DTF agents, along with
Jackson and Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole searched the
residence. Inside the residence, several items associated
with the production of methamphetamine were found. Also
located inside the residence were a container and smoking
devices containing methamphetamine residue.

"As DTF agents continue the war against drugs,
users and manufacturers alike are warned of the
consequences. Meth labs are dangerous, and the consequences
are severe. The health and safety of Covington County
residents are of the utmost importance, and we will continue
to ensure that health and safety to our residents. Every
meth lab shut down keeps meth off the streets," stated
Emmett Massey, DTF prosecutor.
