Mrs. Marie Anderson, age 56 of Opp passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 noon on Monday until time of services. Burial will follow in Alberton Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

John Thomas Sellers, 67, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and son, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Services to celebrate his life will be held 9:00 a.m. CST Friday, August 2nd, at Red Oak Baptist Church in Andalusia, Alabama, with Reverend Douglas Williams officiating.
John was born August 20, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, to Beatrice Lucile Aughtman Sellers and Thomas Jackson Sellers. He attended Straughn High School in Andalusia, Alabama. He later earned his Associate of Arts degree at Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College and baccalaureate degree from Faulkner University.
John served his country honorably for over twenty years in the United States Air Force, earning numerous military decorations and citations, including the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He spent six years in foreign service, serving longest at bases in the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. After retiring from the military, he continued his career in public service with the State of Alabama, assisting military veterans with finding employment.
John had a lifelong passion for reading, and would rarely be found without a book nearby. He loved the outdoors, and spent his time fishing or hunting. He enjoyed discussing politics and current affairs, and participating in civic events. He proudly served other veterans as a member and officer of American Legion Post #123 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Most importantly, John loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. In his last months, he attended the Church of Christ in Geneva, Alabama.
John is survived by his daughter, Lori Sellers Rowe (and husband Rich) of Tallahassee, FL; his son, Kevin John Sellers (and wife Tracie) of Moundville, AL; his beloved grandchildren, Christopher Kevin Sellers of Moundville, AL; Jackson Porter Rowe and Caroline Jordan Rowe of Tallahassee, Florida; his sisters Carol Sellers Tart (and husband Herbert) of Cumming, GA, Pamela Sellers Orange (and husband Mac) of Carrollton, GA, Denese Sellers Maloy of Kinston, AL, Jane Sellers Chapman (and husband Keith) of Columbia, AL; brother David Jackson Sellers (and wife Debra) of Seale, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion or the CurePSP Foundation.
His family would like to give special thanks to and the nurses, doctors and the staff of the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
Mrs. Carolyn Josephine “Jo” Wilson, 73, of Andalusia, passed away Monday July 29, 2013 in the Andalusia Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 AM Wednesday July 31, 2013 at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jay Driver officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM Wednesday at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mr. Marcus Randolph Kyzar,"Duke" to his golfing buddies, age 90 of Andalusia, passed from our midst at his residence Friday, July 19, 2013.
Randolph was born October 4, 1922 in Goshen, AL to Dr. James Hugh and Clara Solomon Kyzar. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brothers, James Hugh Kyzar, Jr. and Terril Franklin Kyzar.
A memorial service for Mr. Kyzar will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at 2:00PM at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Timothy Trent will be officiating. Special music will be provided by Ms. Jackie Covington. Visitation will be at 1 PM Sunday at Foreman Funeral Home.
He grew up in Andalusia and graduated in the class of 1940. Following graduation, Randolph attended Auburn Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) majoring in Pharmaceutical Science.
World War II interrupted his studies in his second year and, like so many others of his generation, he enlisted. He served with honor in the Army Air Corps as a pilot flying in the China-Burma-India Theater. Following the war, he completed his studies at API and was licensed to practice Pharmacy.
He rejoined the Air Force in 1950 and served at many locations until his last deployment in Vietnam, retiring in 1967. He worked as a Pharmacist in Andalusia until his retirement in 2012, two weeks before his 90th birthday.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Courson Kyzar of Andalusia; his daughter, Karen Kyzar of Daphne, AL; his son and daughter-in-law; Marc and Virginia Kyzar of Jackson, AL; two grandchildren, two step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Randolph loved his family and friends, golf, flying, and gardening. He was very patriotic and proud of his service to our country. He touched many lives and left a legacy of generosity, devotion, humor, and faith. He will be truly missed and lovingly remembered.

Mrs. Mary Ann Cope, age 78 of Andalusia died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Cope will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 10:30AM from the First Baptist Church of Andalusia. Reverend John Foster will officiate. Interment will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Cope was born and raised in Auburn, Alabama. She moved to Andalusia in 1959 and had been a resident since that time. Although she was a retired home maker and stay at home mother, she was involved in her community and church during those years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Andalusia. She was the first female juror in Covington County and was one of the first female jurors to serve on the Covington County grand jury. She and Mrs. Jill Little were co chairs of the Fob James for Governor campaign when then Governor Fob James was running for governor. Because of her involvement with his campaign, she was instrumental in the appointments of some of Covington County’s previous judges. Mrs. Cope was a huge Auburn fan and was proud of the fact that her son and grandson played football for the Auburn Tigers.
Survivors include her husband, C.P. “Charley” Cope of Andalusia; two sons and daughters in law, Lucky and Felicia Cope of Andalusia and Tony and Carol Cope of Auburn; a daughter and son in law, Suzy and Shane Lord of Opp, Alabama; six grandchildren and their spouses, Joe and Kathryn Cope, Bricken and Skylar Cope, Preston Cope, Ella Grace Cope, Abby and Cory Wiggins and Carrie Burgess; two great grandchildren, Cuba Wiggins and Shayna Wiggins; a sister and brother in law, Betty Jo and Don Lawrence of Auburn, and a sister in law Emma Jean Gray. Mrs. Cope was preceded in death by her brother, Kendrick Gray

Mrs. Minnie Lee Hoomes Hughen, age 92, went to be with her heavenly Father Friday July 12, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Sunday July 14th at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Trent officiating, interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Sunday at 2 PM. Foreman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Comfort Care Hospice.
Minnie was born and raised in South Alabama with parents Sam and Alice Hoomes (deceased) in Brooklyn, AL. She was married to Ivy Lee Cook and they had three children, Aundra Knode of Pace, FL, Marcus (Marcee) Cook of Crestview, FL, and Terrie McKay (deceased). When Mr. Cook passed, she married Mr. Richard Grantham. During this time her daughter Terrie passed and she took on the job of raising her granddaughter Tina (Scott) Rogers; then when Mr. Grantham passed she married Bennet Hughen. In her early years she worked at the Andala shirt factory, the Box Factory, and then went to school to get a beautician license and had a beauty shop in her home until Hurricane Opal destroyed that home. She built a new home, same location and spent her retirement working in her flowerbeds and fishing in her pond. She was a member of Andalusia Garden Club many years and the American Legion. She was a dedicated Christian mother who was a one time member of Liberty Home Baptist Church and when she married Mr. Hughen, moved to the First United Methodist Church in Andalusia.
She is also survived by three of her sisters, Sammie McGlothren of Brewton, AL, Marie (Robert) Durant of Mobile, AL, Katie (Tommy) Nelson of Brewton, AL.; her grandchildren, Tina (Scott) Rogers of Andalusia, Angela Kennedy, Crestview, FL, Sharon (Jody) Rogers of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Jamey (Joyce) Cooke of Norfolk, VA, Pamela (Guy) Wright of Bath Springs, TN, Ronald (Vickie) Nicholson of Birmingham, AL, Linda Wheeler of Pace, FL; she has 14 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Rogers, Jody Rogers, Paul Shelley, Billy Hoomes, John W. Hoomes, and Jamey Cook.
