Mr. Leslie William Roberts, age 73 of Andalusia died on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Andalusia. Funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 3pm from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Josh Wilson will officiate and eulogies will be given by Tim Frey, Tom Medlock and Vann Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Tim Glisson, Randall Summerford, Chase Glisson, Olin Hackney, Tom Medlock and Vann Roberts.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Sandra Roberts of Andalusia and three daughters, Vickie Roberts, Leslie R. Glisson and husband Tim of Andalusia, and Connie R. Summerford and husband Randall, Jr. of League City, Texas; four grandchildren, Chase Glisson, Ashlan Glisson, Paul Summerford, and Isaac Summerford.

Mr. Roberts was a member of Bethany Baptist Church for several years and was also a retired investment broker. He founded Roberts and Roberts, a regional investment firm headquartered in Pensacola, Florida, in 1977 and served as it’s president until his retirement in early 2007. During this time Mr. Roberts also became an avid runner and founded the McQuire’s Running Club in Pensacola which today now has over 800 members. McQuire’s Running Club was featured in an article in Runner’s World Magazine in 2008.

Mr. Roberts was also a published author whose novel The Poison Plum, was published in 2006 and is based upon his experiences with Lyme Disease.

The body will lie in state at 1pm Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Bethany Baptist Church Youth Ministry Fund.

Mrs. Edith Madonna Blackmon, age 82, of Andalusia (Point A), AL died Thursday March1, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Reverend Hank Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Blackmon is survived by her husband, Bill Blackmon of Andalusia, sons, Terry Glenn (Patsy) Blackmon of Panama City, FL and David Michael (Nancy) Blackmon of Andalusia, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister, Frances (James) Nelson of Pensacola, FL.

Mr. Moses Gordon Hallford, age 86, of Andalusia , AL died Wednesday February 29, 2012 at a Mobile Hospital. Funeral services will be 2PM Tuesday at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Reverend John Eiland and Reverend Keith Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hallford is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Randy Gordon Hallford (Cindy Locke) of Garner N.C, one grandchild Amanda Marie Hallford of Anderson, S.C, lifelong friend and confidant Helen Hallford Sarkis of Mobile, AL, three sisters Bessie Reynolds of Mobile, AL, Bertie Mae Spears of Atlanta, GA, Virginia Norwood of San Antonio, TX, one brother and sister-in-law Junior “Red” Hallford (Jackie) of Red Level, AL, and his dog Sancho.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Hinson, DeWayne Locklier, Danny Sightler, Gene Jackson, Benedict Fern and Buck Henderson.

Visitation will be 10 AM Tuesday at Foreman’s.

Rev. J. T. Castleberry, age 82 of the Carolina Community passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in the Andalusia hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Meadows and Rev. Lamar Brown will officiate. Special music will be provided by Beverly Coon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with military honors and Keahey Funeral Home directing. He was born on February 24, 1929 to G.C. and Alene Castleberry of Red Level, Alabama. He served in the Korean War, and upon his discharge he married Luria Lucas on March 24, 1952. They had one daughter, Carol. Luria preceded him in death, and he later married Lois Blackwell in 1980. He was a Baptist minister and served churches in and around Covington County for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed giving produce from his garden to friends and family. He was a loving husband and a kind, loving father who was always there and always provided the best he could materially, spiritually and emotionally. In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hillery, Ray, Thomas and Wallace and a step grandson, Andrew Byrd. He is survived by his wife, Lois Castleberry of Carolina Community; Carol (Tommy) Welch of Andalusia; brothers, Douglas (Frances) Castleberry of Andalusia; Jerry (Jane) Castleberry of Boliver, Tennessee; step son, Pete (Teresa) Blackwell of Andalusia; step daughter, Sue Williams of Andalusia; Sisters-in-law, Caudy Faye Castleberry and Linda Castleberry, of Andalusia Many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Ernest Brite.
